Amador County Council, which was begun in 1910, was reactivated in 1997 through the efforts of many of the current Charter Members. Its original name, The Mother Lode Council, was lost following deactivation in 1926. Another council now has that designation.
Council #1849, is a vital part of the Amador Catholic Community. Drawing its members primarily from the three parishes in the county, the Council maintains an active role in all three, which also includes three mission churches.
A key understanding for the Amador County Council 1849 is the importance of Family. Whenever and wherever possible, families are included the activities of the Knights of Columbus.
